Kal’s October 2023 Update

Hey Everyone, it’s October! I’m excited for a number of reasons, not least of which is that 27 October I plan to release Valor’s Uprising, the seventh book of my Children of Valor series. That’s right, the next Children of valor book is done and will be out at the end of the month!

This will be my 40th book release, which means I’ll have released 40 books by the time I turn 40. What does that mean? Absolutely nothing, but it’s a cool milestone for me.

In other news, I have been writing busily away and I have Forsworn Valor, the 5th book of the Forsaken Valor series done, which I’ll be releasing in November.

Assuming I can keep the writing going, I’ll have more new books ready to finish out the year and start 2024. I’m also producing some content over on my YouTube channel, though that’s more on the gaming / crafting side right now. There is nothing common about valor.

My name is William Alexander Armstrong, I am the son of murdered parents, an escaped slave, and I have hidden in the last place anyone would think to look for me: among the children of the elite at the Drakkus Imperial Military Institute. I have made allies of a renegade princess, a talking civet, a host of orphans, beggars, outcasts, and a mad artificial intelligence who happens to be my sister.

Right now, that puts me in a position to avenge my family against the Drakkus Pirates who want to kill me and my friends. Which is a good thing, too, because their shadow wars on the streets have erupted into full-scale gun battles. If no one stops them, they could engulf the Drakkus Empire in civil war and kill billions.

I might be able to act to stop them. The only problems I face are an intelligence agent determined to find out my secrets, enemies who hate my guts, and a multi-star-system plot that has just embroiled my homeworld in war on a scale not seen in generations.

For me, it is just another day.

Hey everyone.  Sorry for the long delay in posting.  I’ve been hard at work writing, working on multiple projects.  I’ve finished up Common Valor and Valor’s Uprising is nearly complete.  You can look forward to Common Valor on 29 September 2023 and I am aiming for a 27 October 2023 release for Valor’s Uprising.

I’m hard at work in the other books in both the Children of Valor series and Forsaken Valor series, and you can expect more from both in the near future.

In other news, I am about to send off a new book to a new publisher.  I can’t say too much about the project, yet, but it has been tremendously fun to write.

I’m happy to announce as well that I’ve been making a series of YouTube videos, with topics on writing, gaming, and books.  I’ll cross-post the videos here as well, and the first video will go live on Friday, September 8th.  Video is a new media format for me, so I’d love feedback on it.  Right now it is closely tied to a lot of what I do anyway, such as gaming and writing, so while it adds to my time, it is workable for me to do it in addition to writing, my day job, and all the other things I have going on.

Aerion Swordbreaker has helped to overthrow the usurper and restore Lady Katarina to rule over the Duchy of Masov. In the process, he’s recovered the Starblade, a weapon and symbol of extreme power. But it has been broken for a thousand cycles, and repairing it may be beyond the powers of the greatest wizards who ever lived. This is an impossible quest, but that’s nothing new for Aerion and his companions.

Across the continent of Eoriel, ancient powers stir: gods, demons, and powerful spirits. Some are driven to help, but others will oppose his efforts at all costs. And close at hand, closer than he realizes, there are forces within the Duchy of Masov that will stop at nothing to kill him and destroy the Starblade. Because it represents the High Kings as a symbol of justice that must be removed.

An alliance is forming, of powers dark and terrible, and they’ve chosen their champions with care. The sorcerers of the Black Fortress have returned and they’ll send their monstrous creations across the land, scourging everything in their path, to ensure that Aerion’s quest fails and the era of the High Kings never returns.

We’re already doing this March thing? Okay then…

Sorcerers of the Black Fortress is edited and complete. Sorcerers of the Black Fortress is the 4th book of the Eoriel Saga. I am excited to say that it releases on March 24th. The feedback from my beta readers has been fantastic, a couple of them have told me it’s my best book, yet. High praise, which makes me feel pretty good about releasing it.

I’m well on my way to finishing the 5th book of the series with goals to release that in May.

Next in the queue after that is the next Forsaken Valor and Valor’s Child books. Both series are set up for some really epic events in the near future and I am excited to get back to them, shortly.

This is a busy year for me so far, but I have been getting a lot of writing done. Here is to hoping that continues.
