Kal’s October 2017 Forecast

October is here and with it, a new book published.  That’s right, in case you missed it, I just released Valor’s Calling, the second book of the Children of Valor series.  The feedback I’ve received from my alpha and beta readers has been really great, and I think you all are going to like it a lot.  In case you’re not reading the series, Valor’s Child (the first book) has been on the top 20 of its category for the past three months.

So what’s next?  Well, I’m putting together the next Shadow Space Chronicles book, but I’ve also had something else on my mind… or in my brain, possibly.  In fitting with the time of year, I’ve been stuck on zombies.  I’ve got the first book done and I’m shopping it around to a couple of publishers.  If they like it, you may see it sooner than you expect.

Coming at the end of the month, you can expect to see Prisoner of the Mind.  If you’re a fan of movies like Push, Carrie, and Firestarter, then you may well enjoy this story.  It’s a near-future setting in the Shadow Space universe that covers the origins of a variety of powerful psychic/psionic characters in the universe.  I’ll be publishing it near Halloween (Expect it around the 28th of October).

In the near future, I’m outlining the third Fenris book, and I plan to deliver that to the publisher before the end of the year.  I’m way behind on that one, but expect to see more from Mel and Fenris before too much longer.

I’m also working on a couple of other projects, including a steampunk novel, the next Renegades book, and the next Eoriel Saga book, and the third Children of Valor book.

Thanks for reading!

Kal’s October 2016 Forecast

October… my favorite month for a number of reasons.  Not least of which is that I love the fall.  Lots of cool weather that’s perfect for curling up and reading/writing a book.

I’ve been doing a lot of writing.  No, really, it’s about all I do in my free time.  Write and think about writing.  It’s sort of taking over.  The good news there is that I’m putting the finishing touches on Renegades: Out of Time.  The third novel of the Renegades series is just that, a novel.  It’s every bit as manic and crazy as the other ones, but it follows a more traditional writing style.  Why is that, you may ask?  Because for this story, it flows better.  At this point, too, most of my readers should know the characters well enough that they don’t all need their own stories.

Look for Renegades: Out of Time to come out sometime in November.  Which leads me to what I’ve finished outlining and plan to write next: The Temple of Light, the fifth book of the Shadow Space Chronicles.  In this one, we’ll start to dig into what exactly Reese is doing with those alien artifacts he’s been collecting.  We’ll see more about the mysterious Minder, and we’ll start to see why it is the Balor are so set upon human extinction.

It’s going to be fun.  There’s going to be exploding space ships, intrigue, character growths, character deaths, more exploding space ships, and all-in-all, it should be lots of fun.  My goal is to finish it in November which means a publishing date sometime in December or possibly early January depending on feedback from my readers..

My writing goals after that are a bit more complex.  I need to do a third Wolf Rising book, the fourth Eoriel Saga book, and I’m going to also somehow fit in there finishing off a couple other projects that have been setting on the backburners.

Also this month I’ll be headed out to North Carolina.  In addition to visiting my grandfather, I’ll be attending HonorCon, a military SF convention in Raleigh, NC.  It looks like it’ll be a ton of fun, so if you’re in the area and not cleaning up from hurricane damage, then by all means, come visit.  I’ll have copies of all my books and I’d love to sign some for you!

That’s all for now, thanks for reading!

Kal’s October 2015 Forecast

October is here and I’m happy to greet it.  It’s been a busy past couple months, with a lot of writing and a lot of editing and trying to meet deadlines, plus a convention thrown in for good measure.  So October is here and… yeah, more writing, more editing, and more deadlines.  Oh, and a convention.

I’m working on Fate of the Tyrant, Book III of the Eoriel Saga.  It is a big book for me, since this is concluding the fight over the Duchy of Masov between Lady Katarina Emberhill and Lord Hector the Usurper.  Needless to say, there’s going to be a few fights.

Later this month (23-25 October) I’ll be attending Mile Hi Con in Denver.  I don’t yet have a schedule for my panels, but I’ll be trying to find some table space for signings and I hope to see some people there.  Colorado conventions are always awesome, so if you’re in the area, you should definitely attend.

In other news, Odin’s Eye, sequel to Fenris Unchained, will be coming out later this month.  I don’t have the exact date, yet, but my publisher is trying to line things up to tie the release in with Mile Hi Con, so hopefully I’ll be showing off the new book at the convention!

I’m also trying to line up a book signing tour for the release of Odin’s Eye and The Prodigal Emperor.  It will probably be mostly local, but if you’re interested, let me know here.

One more reminder, don’t forget to subscribe to my newsletter to automatically enter to win a signed copy of The Prodigal Emperor!

That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
