Kal’s Feb 2018 Forecast

Hey Everyone!  Happy Valentines Day, and also welcome to 2018!  (Yeah, I know, where was I six weeks ago?  Well, 2017 was holding on tight and didn’t want to let go)

I’m plugging away on Valor’s Duty, the third book of the Children of Valor series.  I had hoped to have it done, but real life, alas, has intruded.  My priority is to finish that this month and get it out to my alpha readers.  Ideally I will get it published some time in March.

My next couple of projects after that are on new series, one for a publisher and the other I plan to shop around.  I plan to return to the Shadow Space Chronicles after that, and hopefully back to the Eoriel Saga and then maybe the Renegades after that.

Additionally, I’ll be attending the LTUE convention in Provo, Utah, starting on 15 February and running through the 17th.

Coming up early in March, I’ll be at Whimsycon in Denver, and I plan to talk a bit about a steampunk-related project that I’m working.  Whimsycon is a new Steampunk based convention in Denver, run by the same group that hosts Myths and Legends Con and this year they will also be hosting Westercon.  I highly recommend it, they’re great at organizing conventions and it is sure to be a good time.

In addition, I’ve had several of my older covers redone by the fantastic David Simon.  I’ll be uploading those over the next couple of weeks.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading!

Kal’s February 2017 Forecast

February is here.  Wow, that was quick.  I actually found myself writing 2012 on some paperwork yesterday, which tells you how out of touch I can be with the flow of time…  (we’re living in the future, man!)

But anyway, in January I finished writing and the first round of edits to my last WIP, an Urban Fantasy novel that I’ll be sending off to a publisher, hopefully in the next couple of months.  I sent it to my alpha readers and I’m waiting to hear back from them.  I also sent out another novel, Prisoner of the Mind, to a big publisher.  Again, it’s a waiting process.

This month, I’ve already started writing the next Shadow Space Chronicles book.  It has space pirates, exploding space ships, and we get to learn a lot more about Marius Giovanni.  I’m excited to write it and I hope to have it finished by the end of the month.

For those of you who want sneak peaks at my projects, don’t forget to sign up for my newsletter.  This month I’ll be giving away a signed copy of The Temple of Light as well as giving a free preview of the urban fantasy novel I’ve completed.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading!

Snow, snow, and more snow…  Oh, wait, that’s the weather channel.

February is here and I’m pleased to say that my YA novel, Valor’s Child, will soon be available on Kindle Scout.  I’ve had great feedback from beta readers on this one and I can’t wait to see what the rest of you think about it.  I’ll be posting on Kindle Scout mid-month and it’ll run a 30 day campaign.  What does that mean for you, dear reader?  Well, it means you have a chance to read a big chunk of the book, to vote for it there on Kindle Scout, and if they pick up the book for publishing, you’ll receive a free copy from Kindle.  I’ll post more about that later, but who doesn’t like free books, right?

In other news, I’m continuing work on Renegades: Origins and I’m beginning work on two additional projects which will be submitted to publishers upon completion.  One of them is a steampunk novel (I did some worldbuilding for it here) and the other is an origin story on some of the most powerful psychics in the Shadow Space Universe.  As soon as I finish off this Renegades novel, those are next on the plate.

Speaking of Renegades, I’m also considering doing an anthology for the universe with collected short stories from a variety of authors.  I’ll post more about that at a later date, but right now it’s a strong possibility.

That’s all for now, thanks for reading!
